Organizations adopting DevOps usually find that alignment with the business is the part that degrades first. This paper proposes BizDevOps-BC, a business capability for teams moving from DevOps to BizDevOps without losing delivery agility.

The capability has four pillars: people, processes, information, and the resources to develop software under BizDevOps. Each pillar carries a minimum requirement rather than a best practice, so the artifact answers a question a team can actually act on — what is missing here? — instead of a question that has no fixed answer.

Validation. A proof of concept in a DevOps organization already running SAFe, plus an expert survey of industry practitioners and academics. The result worth stating plainly: BizDevOps-BC is a complement, not a replacement. An organization that adopted DevOps and SAFe does not need to restructure to adopt BizDevOps; it needs to fill specific gaps. That is a much lower-risk claim than the one the name of the approach sometimes implies.
